Australian surfer Jack Robinson sustained a foot injury during a practice session at Tahiti's Teahupo'o, the Olympic surfing venue, requiring five stitches. However, team officials confirmed on Thursday that Robinson is set to compete when the Games commence on Saturday.
According to Kate Wilcomes, Surfing Australia's National High-Performance Director, Robinson is eager for the first heats. 'He came off a wave during training on Wednesday and a fin cut him near his ankle. Team Australia's Chief Medical Officer took care of the injury, and he's ready to go,' Wilcomes stated.
