India's shooting team narrowly missed securing a medal in the 10m air rifle mixed team event at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Senior Vice President of the National Rifle Association of India, Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, revealed on Saturday. Despite the setback, optimism remains high for the team's performance in the upcoming competitions.

Speaking to ANI, Singh Deo highlighted the encouraging start of shooter Manu Bhaker, who qualified for the Women's 10m Air Pistol final, though her teammate Rhythm Sangwan did not make it. Bhaker scored impressively in the qualification round with a total of 580-27x points, finishing third.

Additionally, shooters Sarabjot Singh and Arjun Cheema did not qualify for the men's 10m air pistol final. The 10m air rifle mixed team qualifiers saw Indian pairs Elavenil Valarivan and Sandeep Singh, and Arjun Babuta and Ramita Jindal, miss out on advancing to the medal matches, finishing in 12th and 6th place respectively.
