Cricket legend Rahul Dravid, renowned for his ability to handle pressure and meet expectations, on Sunday praised Manu Bhaker for overcoming a forgettable outing at her maiden Olympics to secure a historic bronze in this edition of the Games.

Bhaker made history by becoming the first Indian woman shooter to earn an Olympic medal, finishing third in the 10m air pistol event. This achievement not only opened India's medal account in the ongoing Games but also ended a 12-year wait for its shooters.

Dravid expressed immense pride in Bhaker's accomplishment. 'Manu's story is incredible after the disappointment of Tokyo Olympics; to come here, get over that, compete, and win a bronze is a phenomenal achievement,' Dravid said during a panel discussion at India House. 'These achievements require years of sacrifice, hard work, resilience, and perseverance. We know how challenging it is for a sportsperson, and how much rides on these few days,' Dravid noted.
