Indian rifle shooter Ramita Jindal missed out on a medal, finishing seventh in the final of the 10-meter air rifle women's competition at the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024 on Monday. It marked her debut at the Olympic Games.
In an interview with ANI, Jindal described the experience as incredibly rewarding. She emphasized the valuable lessons and skills gained, which she plans to apply in future competitions. 'The experience was really great for me; a lot of things I learnt here and I will definitely take these takeaways with me,' she said.
Jindal praised teammate Manu Bhaker for her bronze medal win, noting how Bhaker's achievement has inspired the entire team. She described Bhaker as hardworking and a consistent source of motivation. 'After Manu's medal, we now have hope because me and Manu have been playing for a long time. If she can do it, then we can also do it,' she noted.
Ramita also highlighted the overall hard work and competitiveness of the shooting contingent, expressing confidence in their collective potential to secure more medals in the future. 'Everybody worked hard in our contingent, and we can bring more medals. Everyone is very competitive and in good form,' she added.
