Juergen Klopp Shuts Down England Manager Speculations
Former Liverpool coach Juergen Klopp has dismissed rumors linking him to the England manager position. Speaking at an event in Wurzburg, Klopp emphasized he has no plans for future roles, including the England job left vacant by Gareth Southgate. Klopp recently concluded his tenure with Liverpool and has no upcoming commitments.
Former Liverpool coach Juergen Klopp has distanced himself from the vacant England manager position, stating he has no intention of taking on new roles soon.
Speaking at the International Coaches' Congress in Wurzburg, Klopp dismissed the idea of succeeding Gareth Southgate, who resigned after England's loss in the Euro 2024 final to Spain. Klopp remarked, 'England? That would be the biggest loss of face in the history of football if I said: I'll make an exception for you.'
Gareth Southgate announced his departure less than 48 hours following England's second consecutive European Championship final defeat. Klopp clarified that no new job offers are in the pipeline for him at this moment. He added, 'At the moment, there is nothing at all in terms of jobs. No club, no country. I've also coached the best clubs in the world. Maybe we can talk about it again in a few months.'
Liverpool has appointed Feyenoord manager Arne Slot as Klopp's replacement this May.
