Dhoni's Picks: Bumrah as Favorite Bowler, Skips Kohli vs Sharma Debate
Legendary cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni revealed Jasprit Bumrah as his favorite bowler while refraining from choosing between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as his preferred batsman. Dhoni commended Bumrah's T20 World Cup performance. Speculations about Dhoni's IPL future remain, along with unresolved issues within the IPL teams regarding auction rules and policies.
Legendary cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni has declared Jasprit Bumrah as his favorite bowler but chose not to select between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as his preferred batsman.
Bumrah's standout performance in the recent T20 World Cup in the Americas, where he clinched 15 wickets at an economy rate of 4.17, earned him the player of the tournament accolade.
During a promotional event, Dhoni said, "It's easy to pick my favourite bowler because Bumrah is there. It's difficult to pick a batsman because we have many good batsmen. But that doesn't mean bowlers aren't good."
Dhoni also commented on the current IPL season, where issues including mega auction rules and the 'Impact Player' rule are under discussion. Dhoni emphasized that any decisions regarding his participation in the 2025 IPL season will depend on future player retention policies.
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah mentioned having "constructive dialogue" with IPL team owners over these issues, which will be considered by the IPL Governing Council for further deliberation.
