Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced a prize of Rs 1 crore for shooter Swapnil Kusale, who won a bronze medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Kusale achieved India’s first-ever bronze in the 50m rifle 3 positions event, raising the country's overall medal tally to three at the ongoing Paris Games.
CM Shinde shared that he had spoken to Kusale's father and coach and congratulated the shooter via a video call.
'The Maharashtra government is awarding Rs 1 crore to Kusale, and he will be felicitated upon his return from the Olympics,' the CM stated.
Shinde expressed pride in Kusale, who hails from Maharashtra's Kolhapur, for bringing laurels to the country through his sporting achievements.
