Suresh Mahadev Kusale, father of Olympic bronze medallist Swapnil Kusale, expressed immense pride following his son's recent achievement at the Paris Olympics. Swapnil's victory in the men's 50m rifle 3P event on Thursday marked him as the first Indian to win a medal in this category.

Reflecting on his son's journey, Suresh told ANI, 'I felt very proud when he won at the state level for the first time. I always supported him. When he was selected for the international match for the first time in 2015, I supported him there as well.' Swapnil's grandmother, Tulsabai Mahadev Kusale, also expressed her delight, saying, 'It is very good to hear that Swapnil has won the bronze medal. It feels great to see my grandson on TV.'

Swapnil's victory has been celebrated widely, with notable athletes applauding his accomplishment. Yuvraj Singh congratulated him on Instagram, urging him to continue breaking records. Abhinav Bindra and Gautam Gambhir also praised Swapnil's dedication and talent, with Bindra stating, 'Your hard work, grit, and passion have paid off.'

Former shooter Heena Sidhu highlighted the emotional significance of the win, acknowledging the challenges of the 3P category. She stated, 'Swapnil has made history with a spectacular performance. This is a special moment for us shooters.' Similarly, Olympic medallist Sakshee Malilkkh congratulated Swapnil for securing India's third medal at the Paris Olympics.
