India’s archery talents Ankita Bhakat and Dhiraj Bommadevara are poised to compete for a medal after an impressive quarter-final victory over Spain's Elia Canales and Pablo Acha in the recurve mixed team event. The Indian pair clinched the match 5-3 in four sets.

The contest began with Dhiraj delivering two consecutive tens, and Ankita contributing two nines, accumulating a total of 38 points in the first set. The Spanish team responded with 37 points, hitting three nines and one ten. Both teams replicated the scores in the second set, resulting in a 38-38 tie.

Spain leveled the score at 3-3 in the third set, thanks to tens from Pablo and Elia. Despite Dhiraj’s ten, India's total of 36 fell short against Spain’s 37. In the fourth set, Ankita’s eight was offset by Dhiraj’s consecutive tens, securing 37 points for India. Spain could not capitalize on their initial shots, totaling 36 points and granting India the win.

Earlier in the day, Ankita and Dhiraj defeated Indonesia’s Diananda Choirunisa and Arif Pangestu 5-1 in the Round of 16 at Les Invalides. They dominated the first and third sets with 37-36 and 38-37 scores, tying the second set at 38-38. This win set the stage for their quarter-final triumph.
