Indian archer Deepika Kumari faced a narrow defeat against South Korean rival Suhyeon Nam in the quarterfinal match of the women's individual archery event at the Paris Olympics. On Saturday, at the historical Les Invalides, Deepika lost 4-6 (2-0, 0-2, 2-0, 0-2, 0-2).

Starting high, Deepika clinched the first set 28-26, boasting scores of 9, 10, and 9. However, inconsistency marred her performance in the second set, scoring a 10, followed by a 6, leading to a 25-28 loss. Both archers began the third set strong with a 10, but Deepika emerged victorious 29-28.

Despite scoring a 10 in her initial fourth set attempt, she was hindered by a 7 in the subsequent try, losing the set 27-29. The final set saw her hitting three consecutive 9s, culminating in a 27-29 defeat. Earlier, Deepika had triumphed over Germany's Michelle Kroppen in the Round of 16, securing a quarterfinal berth.
