Carlos Yulo Clinches Olympic Gold in Men's Floor Exercise

Carlos Yulo secured the second Olympic gold medal ever for the Philippines, narrowly surpassing defending champion Artem Dolgopyat of Israel in the men's floor exercise finals at the Paris Games on Saturday. Yulo, aged 24, achieved a score of 15.000, edging out Dolgopyat at 14.966 and Britain's Jake Jarman, who took bronze with a 14.933.

Yulo's performance was highlighted by a flawless triple-twisting dismount during his final tumbling pass, prompting him to celebrate enthusiastically in front of a packed Bercy Arena before leaving the podium.

This triumph places Yulo alongside weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz, who earned the Philippines’ first Olympic gold in the women's 55-kilogram division in Tokyo three years prior. The event finals continue with the women’s vault final, where American star Simone Biles aims to make history by winning her second Olympic vault title. Later, attention will turn to the men’s pommel horse final, with American Stephen Nedoroscik and Rhys McClenaghan of Ireland leading the qualifiers.
