Former Indian Olympic medalist and the country's chef-de-mission at the Paris Olympics, Gagan Narang, has called on the nation to celebrate all athletes representing India at the global event. Narang stressed that while winning medals is crucial, it is equally important to recognize the years of hard work and sacrifice athletes put in. As of now, India's mixed performance includes three medals in shooting.

Manu Bhaker, narrowly missing a potential third medal in the 25m pistol shooting, brings home two medals—one in the women's 10m air pistol event and another in the 10m air pistol mixed-team event alongside Sarabjot Singh. Bhaker's solo achievement marked the first shooting medal by an Indian woman, while the team medal was India's first in that category. Swapnil's bronze in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions provided another high point.

In other sports, Manika Batra and Sreeja Akula made history in table tennis by reaching the Round of 16. The Indian Men's Hockey Team defeated Australia, their first win against the former champions since 1972. Additionally, Dhiraj Bommadevara and Ankita Bhakat delivered India's best archery result by finishing fourth in the mixed team event. Prominent athletes in badminton and boxing faced tough defeats, but Narang remains optimistic about India's future in sports.

Expressing his pride, Narang remarked, 'My heartiest congratulations to all the medal winners and achievers in Paris. Their performances highlight India's growth as a sporting nation. As an athlete, only a few get to live the Olympic dream after years of hard work. We must acknowledge all our athletes' efforts irrespective of results.'

Narang believes that the athletes' experiences in Paris will drive them to higher achievements. 'I have faced my share of disappointments, but each time I couldn't achieve my goals, it motivated me to work harder. Our athletes will learn from their experiences and perform even better,' he said, adding that these athletes have sparked a sporting revolution in India and inspired the next generation.
