India's prominent defender Amit Rohidas is set to miss the men's hockey semifinal against Germany in the Olympics, following a suspension for a red card received during the quarterfinal match against Great Britain.

The suspension leaves India with only 15 players for the crucial game, a considerable disadvantage for the eight-time Olympic champions.

The FIH official statement confirmed the suspension due to a breach of the FIH Code of Conduct during the match against Great Britain on August 4. Rohidas was sent off after an accidental hit on a rival player.
