Babita Phogat, an Olympian wrestler herself, expressed disbelief and termed the incident as bad luck for both Vinesh and India. 'Everyone was hoping for the gold medal. Today was a day of bad luck for Vinesh and all of India,' she told ANI.
IOA President PT Usha also voiced her disappointment at a press conference. She mentioned that the Indian support staff is working with Vinesh to cope with the situation. 'I'm shocked and disappointed. Our support staff are doing their best to help her reduce weight,' Usha said. Meanwhile, India will look forward to other events with high hopes.
