Indian athlete Jyothi Yarraji failed to advance to the semifinals of the women's 100 m hurdles at the Paris Olympics, finishing fourth in the repechage round heat one. Jyothi clocked 13.17 seconds, but only the top two from each heat qualified.
Jyothi's Olympic participation marked a significant milestone for India, being the first Indian athlete to compete in this event. Despite finishing seventh in Heat 5 with a time of 13.16 seconds on Wednesday, she didn't secure a direct spot in the semifinals.
India's marathon race walk mixed relay team, consisting of Suraj Panwar and Priyanka Goswami, was unable to complete their event, ending at the 33.4km mark due to multiple infractions. Spain's Alvaro Martin and Maria Perez won with a time of 2:50:31.
Star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, the World Championships gold medalist, aims to retain his title at the Paris Olympics. Chopra qualified for the finals with a throw of 89.34 meters. The final on Thursday will see fierce competition, including Czech Republic's Jakub Vadlejch and Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem.
