Olympic Legends Join IOC Athletes' Commission

Allyson Felix, the most decorated U.S. track and field Olympian, and Jessica Fox, Australia's double canoe gold medallist, are among the four newly elected members to the IOC athletes' commission. Their eight-year term concludes at the Brisbane 2032 Olympics.

Allyson Felix, the United States' most decorated track and field athlete at the Olympics, and Australia's Jessica Fox, a double canoe gold medallist at the Paris Games, have been elected to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) athletes' commission, the IOC announced on Thursday.

The retired Felix, celebrated for her 11 Olympic track medals, and Fox, joined German gymnast Kim Bui and New Zealand tennis player Marcus Daniell as new members following a Paris Games competitors' vote. Bui and Daniell are well-known for their bronzes at the Tokyo Games.

They will serve an eight-year term through the Brisbane 2032 Olympics. The vote saw a total of 29 athletes from 15 sports vying for the positions.
