Bradley Roberts, the hooker for Wales and Dragons, has announced his retirement from rugby at the age of 28 due to a persistent back injury. The South African-born player debuted for Wales in 2021, where he notably faced his country of birth.

During his short but impactful career, Roberts earned five caps for the national team and scored his only try in the 2023 Six Nations against France at Stade de France. He described his rugby career as 'short but very sweet' and expressed pride and astonishment in his achievements.

'I have no doubt it will leave me in good stead for whatever life has in store for me,' Roberts said in a statement released by the Welsh Rugby Union. 'If my life so far is anything to go by, I'm sure it will be very exciting.'
