Neeraj Chopra's family members expressed immense pride in his accomplishments, despite his inability to defend his Olympic gold medal. Chopra secured a silver in the men's javelin throw at the Paris Games, making history as the first Indian track-and-field athlete to win consecutive Olympic medals. Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem shattered the competition with a new Olympic record, claiming his country's first individual gold.

Nadeem's extraordinary 92.97m throw in his second attempt set an insurmountable benchmark for the field, including Chopra, who managed a silver-winning throw of 89.45m in the second round under considerable pressure.

The Indian athlete's second-place performance was the season's best, surpassing his qualification throw of 89.34m. Chopra's family remains joyful and plans a grand celebration upon his return. ''We're delighted with his silver medal. His hard work and the nation's blessings have earned him this accolade,'' said his father Satish Kumar. His mother, Saroj Devi, added: ''He has done fantastically well, and we will give him a grand welcome. He loves churma, so we will make it for him.'' Aunt Kamlesh also praised his efforts, highlighting the significance of winning any medal in such a competitive field.
