The Italian Swimming Federation's protest concerning Francesco Condemi's ejection in Italy's quarterfinal loss to Hungary at the Paris Olympics has been dismissed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Condemi, a 20-year-old athlete, was penalized for violent conduct with 2:22 left in the second quarter, which led to a critical penalty shot by Krisztian Manhercz, giving Hungary a 4-2 lead.

The Italian Federation sought to overturn Condemi's sanctions and requested a replay of the match from the point of his ejection, but both World Aquatics and CAS have rejected the appeals.
