Passionate celebrations by fans and an emotional reunion with his family marked the return of Arshad Nadeem, Pakistan’s first individual Olympic gold medallist. Nadeem's flight was greeted with a water cannon salute as it touched down on Sunday.

Thousands of fans gathered to catch a glimpse of Nadeem, who won the javelin throw gold with a distance of 92.97 meters at the Paris Games. An emotional reunion with his mother, father, and elder brother took place in the state lounge at the Allama Iqbal international airport, with further celebrations involving family members from Mian Channu in Punjab Province.

The excitement was palpable as fans carrying placards and posters swarmed to greet Nadeem, who had to be escorted back to the state lounge due to the rush. Nadeem’s arrival, originally scheduled for 1:29 AM, saw fans waiting since 9 PM, and he was welcomed by government ministers and officials who garlanded him. Nadeem's gold medal is Pakistan's first since the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games and the first in track and field.
