Renowned Indian hockey goalkeeper PR Sreejesh has expressed his desire to follow the coaching philosophy of former cricket coach Rahul Dravid. Sreejesh aims to mentor junior players to create a strong feeder system for the national hockey team.
Just as Dravid advanced through coaching India's U-19 team, the 'Custodian of India's dreams' plans to start with juniors, aiming to eventually coach the senior national team by the 2032 Olympics in Brisbane.
In an interview with PTI, Sreejesh outlined his aspirations, stating, ''I want to become a coach. That was always my plan. After retirement, family comes first.'' By 2029, he aims to have produced a significant number of senior players, positioning himself to take over as chief coach by 2032.
