Pakistan's red-ball captain, Shan Masood, underscores the necessity of habitually securing victories at home to solidify the team's stance in international cricket and to aspire for a spot in the World Test Championship final.

In a recent Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) podcast, Masood stated, ''We have yet to find the perfect approach to taking advantage of home conditions and winning.'' He added that consistent home victories are crucial for qualifying for the championship final.

Following Babar Azam's resignation post the 2023 ODI World Cup exit, Masood assumed the position of Test captain and remains at the helm for upcoming fixtures starting in July. Despite hosting international cricket since 2019, Pakistan's Test side has struggled on home soil. Notable losses to Australia, England, and a stalemate with New Zealand were highlighted alongside criticisms over flat pitch preparations. Head coach Gillespie anticipates that playing seven out of nine Tests at home this season will help in discovering the right strategies and conditions to benefit the team.
