A lightning strike in Jharkhand's Simdega district claimed the lives of budding hockey players and injured five others on Wednesday, police reported.
The tragic incident took place at Tutikel Panchayat in Kolebira area as the players were warming up for a match near Jhapla RC School. Those injured were immediately rushed to hospital for treatment.
The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination, confirming the severe impact of the lightning strike.
