A fine bowling spell by pacer Saqib Mahmood and top knocks from Will Jacks and Jordan Cox led Oval Invincibles to their second straight victory in The Hundred men's title at Lord's on Sunday. Mahmood was awarded 'Player of the Match'. Meanwhile, Sam Curran was named 'Player of the Series' for his 201 runs in six innings, featuring two fifties and 17 wickets.

Southern Brave won the toss and chose to bowl first. The defending champions lost Jacks (37) and Dawid Malan (7) after a promising start, reducing the team to 47/2. A crucial 46-run partnership between Cox (25) and Curran (25) pushed Invincibles closer to the 100-run mark, but the team stumbled to 102/6 soon after.

In the final stretch, Tom Curran (24) and Tom Lammonby (16) accelerated the score to 147/9. Leading the bowling for Southern Brave, Tymal Mills (3/33) and Akeal Hosein (3/34) stood out, complemented by solid efforts from Jofra Archer (2/36) and Chris Jordan (1/24).

During the run-chase, Southern Brave's openers Alex Davies (35) and James Vince (24) initiated a strong start, posting 58 runs in 43 balls. However, Mahmood's timely breakthroughs, dismissing Leus du Plooy (20), Kieron Pollard (0), and Laurie Evans (16), thwarted Brave's progression. Despite Craig Overton's (22*) resistance, Invincibles restricted Brave to 130/7 in 100 balls. Mahmood’s 3/17 proved decisive, with Adam Zampa also contributing effectively with 2/26.
