Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday engaged with India's largest-ever contingent for the Paris Paralympics, beginning August 28. The interaction, held via video call, saw the presence of Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.
With 84 athletes across 12 sports, this year’s contingent marks a significant increase from the 54 athletes at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. India will debut in para-cycling, para-rowing, and blind judo in Paris, enhancing the nation’s representation.
Mandaviya expressed confidence in the athletes, highlighting their willpower and past achievements, including 19 medals at Tokyo 2020 and 111 at the 2022 Asian Para Games. He urged the nation to support the athletes as they aim for glory in Paris.
