Samoa's wicket-keeper batter Darius Visser made history by scoring an astonishing 39 runs in a single over, during their ICC Men's T20 World Cup Sub Regional East Asia-Pacific Qualifier A match against Vanuatu.
In the 15th over of the match, Visser smashed six sixes and benefited from three no-balls bowled by Vanuatu's Nalin Nipiko. This monumental feat allowed him to surpass the previous record of 36 runs in an over set by India's Yuvraj Singh in 2007, and equaled by Kieron Pollard and Nicholas Pooran in 2021 and 2024 respectively.
Visser's electrifying knock of 132 from 62 deliveries, including 14 sixes, propelled Samoa to victory, keeping their hopes alive for the 2026 T20 World Cup qualification.
