The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has unveiled the schedule for the national men's and women's cricket teams for 2024. Running from April to September, the season promises thrilling matchups in both red and white-ball formats. According to Richard Gould, ECB Chief Executive Officer, staging the men’s and women’s series simultaneously with the same opponents has been well-received by fans and has bolstered the women's cricket game.
Gould highlighted the success of the previous Ashes and Pakistan series and expressed excitement for similar arrangements against the West Indies and India next year. Notably, England Women will face India in the first-ever Women's Test at Lord's in 2026. The women's home season kicks off with a T20I series against the West Indies from May 21-26, followed by ODIs from May 30 to June 7. This will be followed by a five-match T20I series against India starting on June 28, leading up to a three-game ODI series as crucial preparation for the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025.
For the men's team, the schedule features contests against West Indies, India, Zimbabwe, and South Africa. The Zimbabwe Test at Trent Bridge will be their first in England since 2003. England Men will then play West Indies in a limited-overs series from May 30 to June 10. The India Men's side will return to England for a five-match Test series, concluding with a three-match ODI and T20I series against South Africa in September.
