The announcement was made by France's coach, Didier Deschamps. Tchouameni is dealing with a foot issue, while Mendy sustained a shin injury. Both players participated in Real Madrid's 2-0 victory over Real Betis, although Mendy was substituted in the second half.
To fill the void, Lazio midfielder Matteo Guendouzi and Aston Villa left-back Lucas Digne have been summoned as replacements. The French team is set to face Italy on Friday at the Parc des Princes and Belgium three days later in Lyon.
