Jorge Martin's Dominant Victory at San Marino Grand Prix Sprint

Jorge Martin of Pramac Racing clinched victory at the San Marino Grand Prix sprint race, showcasing a blistering start that saw him lead from the beginning to the chequered flag. This win extends his lead in the riders' championship over reigning champion Francesco Bagnaia to 26 points.

Despite securing pole position earlier in the day, Bagnaia couldn't maintain his lead, falling behind Martin immediately after the start. Martin's dominant performance left Bagnaia chasing in second place throughout the race. Bagnaia, who had recently broken Martin's lap record, expressed his disappointment but acknowledged his second-place finish as satisfactory given the circumstances.

Enea Bastianini, Bagnaia's teammate from the factory Ducati team, made significant progress from eighth to fourth place, much to the delight of the home crowd. Meanwhile, Marc Marquez finished fifth after a competitive race with rookie Pedro Acosta.
