The match saw Syria taking an early lead as Mahmoud Al-Aswad scored in the seventh minute, capitalizing on a rebound. Despite India's efforts to equalize, Syria maintained relentless pressure, with notable saves from Indian goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu keeping the hosts in the game.
Syria's Daleho Irandust was instrumental, providing key assists and demonstrating creativity that troubled the Indian defense. Pablo Sabbag and Mahmoud Al-Mawas added to the scoreline, securing Syria's dominant win. Al-Mawas was later named the Syed Abdul Rahim Player of the Tournament.
