Grandmaster Arjun Erigaise's stunning fourth consecutive victory has given India an early lead against Serbia in the fourth round of the 45th Chess Olympiad. Erigaise's impeccable form led to a perfect counter-attacking game against Indjic Aleksandar, edging him closer to the 2800 rating barrier.

Meanwhile, Grandmasters Vidit Gujrathi and D Gukesh held dominant positions against Evic Velimir and Alexandr Predke, respectively, maintaining India's hope for another commanding 3.5-0.5 win. R Praggnanandhaa's decision to split the point early against Alexey Sarana put added pressure on Erigaise to deliver, which he did admirably.

In the women's section, India faced challenges on all boards. D Harika was nearing victory against Deimante Daulyte-Cornett, while Tania Sachdev capitalized on her opponent's time pressure to clinch a win. R Vaishali secured a draw against Sophie Millet, and both Mitra Hejazipour and Divya Deshmukh were engaged in a fluctuating battle.
