Pioli's Verdict: Ronaldo vs Messi – The GOAT Debate Rages On

Former AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli, now with Al-Nassr, favors Cristiano Ronaldo over Lionel Messi, citing Ronaldo's goal-scoring feats. Ronaldo recently hit 900 career goals and has a massive social media following. Meanwhile, Messi marked his return to action with a stellar performance for Inter Miami.

In a long-standing debate that has captivated football fans worldwide, former AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli has weighed in on who reigns supreme between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Pioli, who recently took over as manager at Al-Nassr where Ronaldo now plays, picked the Portuguese star, citing his prolific goal-scoring record.

During an interview, Pioli emphasized Ronaldo's astounding scoring ability. 'I think Cristiano Ronaldo is superior to Lionel Messi; he has scored more goals than games,' Pioli stated, as reported by Geo News. Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d'Or recipient, recently accomplished a historic milestone by becoming the first men's football player to reach 900 career goals, a feat achieved during Portugal's UEFA Nations League match against Croatia.

In that game, Ronaldo netted the landmark goal in the 34th minute thanks to a Nuno Mendes cross, helping Portugal secure a victory. Besides his on-field exploits, Ronaldo has also set records off the field. With a social media presence surpassing 1 billion followers across all platforms, he launched a YouTube channel that swiftly garnered 10 million subscribers. On the other hand, Messi, recovering from an ankle injury, made a strong comeback for Inter Miami, scoring twice in a win over the Philadelphia Union.
