Munro and Van der Dussen Shine in Thrilling T20 Victories

The Harare Sports Club witnessed an exhilarating day of T20 cricket as Colin Munro and Rassie van der Dussen led their teams to victory. The Cape Town Samp Army capped off the day with a stunning win over the Bulawayo Brave Jaguars. NYS Lagos topped the table with two wins.

At the Harare Sports Club, an action-packed day of T20 cricket saw Colin Munro and Rassie van der Dussen deliver standout performances. Munro’s unbeaten 58 propelled the Durban Wolves to a comprehensive win, while Van der Dussen’s explosive 81 ensured NYS Lagos remained undefeated in the tournament.

The day began with the Harare Bolts posting a decent 99/3, thanks to contributions from Sean Williams, George Munsey, and Jimmy Neesham. Dawlat Zadran and Mohammad Irfan bowled excellently for the Wolves. In a fitting response, Munro’s sparkling innings, supported by Smeed, Chapman, and Chakabva, helped the Wolves chase down the target with ease.

Next, NYS Lagos dazzled fans as Van der Dussen scored his second consecutive fifty, ending unbeaten on 81. Contributions from Fernando and Zadran took the total to an imposing 133/2. The Jo'Burg Bangla Tigers faltered despite the efforts of Zazai, Raza, and Asalanka, falling 16 runs short. Akhilesh Reddy and Perera were the standout bowlers for Lagos.

The final match was a low-scoring thriller between the Bulawayo Brave Jaguars and the Cape Town Samp Army. Jaguars managed only 83/6, with significant help from Herft and Hobson. Willey and Hamza shone with the ball for the Samp Army. A tense chase saw Bennett and Mustafa set the stage before Ahmad’s crucial six sealed the game, leading Samp Army to win by three wickets.
