India Remains Cautious: Factors for Second Test Against Bangladesh
India is uncertain about fielding three spinners in the second Test against Bangladesh due to variable pitch conditions and weather forecasts. The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association has prepared two pitches for the match, and final decisions will depend on the conditions on the day of the game.
India remains undecided on playing three spinners in the second Test against Bangladesh, with assistant coach Abhishek Nayar stating that the pitch and overhead conditions on the morning of the match will influence the decision-making.
The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association has prepared two pitches for the game, set to start on Thursday.
Skipper Rohit Sharma and coach Gautam Gambhir inspected the pitches during an optional training session at Green Park Stadium.
Rain is forecasted for the opening day and day three. Previously, India opted for two spinners and three pacers in Chennai.
If India decides to field three spinners, the additional spinner could be either Axar Patel or Kuldeep Yadav. Nayar remained non-committal on Kuldeep’s potential inclusion.
Nayar also commented on the possible turnaround in KL Rahul’s form under coach Gautam Gambhir. Despite Rahul’s struggle to secure his place, the coaching team remains hopeful for improved performances.
Nayar credited the team’s improved fitness levels, initiated during Virat Kohli’s captaincy, as a significant factor in enhanced fielding performances.
