Young Indian sailors dished out a stellar performance, returning with seven medals, including a gold, four silvers, and two bronzes from the Mussanah Race Week in Oman. This international regatta for youth sailors witnessed India's dominance, especially in the Optimist Girls U-15 category.
In a remarkable achievement, Shreya Krishna Lakshminarayanan and Kommaravelly Lahari clinched the top two positions. Shreya, securing gold, emerged victorious with a net score of 28, overcoming others by consistent displays and finishing across a series of strategic races.
The competition saw participation from 106 sailors spanning multiple nations, with India making a strong mark in the ILCA-4 and ILCA-6 categories. Shashank Batham and Akshat Kumar Dohare bagged silver and bronze in the ILCA-4 U-16, while Maanya Reddy narrowly missed the top spot in ILCA-6 girls U-19.
