In a spectacular display of batting prowess, Chad Bowes shattered the record for the fastest double century in men's List A matches on Wednesday. Bowes reached this remarkable milestone in just 103 balls against Otago at Christchurch during New Zealand's premier List A tournament, the Ford Trophy.

The previous record, held jointly by Australia's Travis Head and India's N Jagadeeshan at 114 balls, was eclipsed by Bowes, who scored 205 runs from 110 balls in his 100th List A match. Bowes's innings included seven sixes and 27 fours, propelling Canterbury to a total of 343-9.

Otago, batting second, struggled to match the momentum and crumbled for 103 runs, handing Canterbury a dominant 240-run victory.
