Houston Texans running back Lamar Miller was named Tuesday to the AFC squad at the 2019 Pro Bowl, replacing the Denver Broncos' Phillip Lindsay, who will miss the game with a wrist injury. Miller rushed for 973 yards and five touchdowns this past season, collecting 4.63 yards per carry for the 11-5 Texans, who won the AFC South and were eliminated 21-7 by the division rival Indianapolis Colts in the wild-card round. Miller, a seven-year veteran out of Miami, rushed for a season-high 162 yards in a Week 12 victory over the Tennessee Titans.
He had just five carries for 18 yards in the season-ending playoff defeat to the Colts but did grab eight receptions for 63 yards. Lindsay, who became the first undrafted offensive rookie to earn Pro Bowl honors, injured his right wrist in a Christmas Eve loss against the Oakland Raiders. He still will attend the Jan. 27 Pro Bowl in Orlando, Fla., serving as a "social media correspondent" for the league. Lindsay, 24, amassed 1,037 yards and nine touchdowns on 192 carries this season. His average of 5.4 yards per carry tied for second in the league.
