Australia's spin bowler, Matt Kuhnemann, has come under scrutiny for a suspected illegal bowling action following his impressive performance against Sri Lanka. The left-arm spinner took 16 wickets in Australia's 2-0 series victory in Galle, putting on a dominant display.

Following the series, Kuhnemann has been reported and will need to have his bowling action tested for legality. Cricket regulations permit a maximum of 15 degrees of elbow extension before a delivery is deemed illegal. In a statement, Cricket Australia confirmed receipt of the match officials' report after the second test and pledged full support to Kuhnemann through the testing process.

'Cricket Australia will liaise closely with the ICC (International Cricket Council) and independent experts in accordance with ICC regulations,' the statement added. This marks the first time Kuhnemann's bowling action has been questioned in his professional career, which includes 124 matches since 2017.
