Mumbai Indians have announced the signing of Parunika Sisodia as a replacement for the injured Pooja Vastrakar for the upcoming 2025 Women's Premier League (WPL) season. Vastrakar's absence due to injury has prompted this strategic move from MI, as confirmed in a WPL release.

Sisodia, a left-arm spinner who previously played for Gujarat Giants, showcased her skills with notable performances in the ICC Women's U19 T20 World Cup, earning the Player of the Match title in the semi-final against England. She joins Mumbai Indians for a fee of Rs 10 lakh.

Additionally, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have brought in Nuzhat Parween, a wicketkeeper from Railways who has represented India in five T20Is, as a replacement for Asha Sobhana, who has also sustained an injury. The WPL 2025 is set to kick off on February 14 and will feature matches across venues like Vadodara, Bengaluru, Lucknow, and Mumbai.
