Three-time defending champion Iga Swiatek showcased her dominance at the Qatar Open by defeating Elena Rybakina 6-2, 7-5, advancing to the semi-finals. Swiatek exerted control from the outset, quickly taking charge against Kazakhstan's Rybakina in a rematch of last year's final.

Rybakina faced additional challenges after the WTA upheld a ban against her former coach, but she managed to break early in the second set. However, Swiatek countered with a decisive break to secure her advance. 'I'm super happy and super proud of myself,' Swiatek remarked after her victory.

Meanwhile, Russia's Ekaterina Alexandrova triumphed over American sixth seed Jessica Pegula, rebounding from a set down to win 4-6, 6-1, 6-1, continuing her eight-match winning streak. Alexandrova remains focused as she prepares to face either Ukraine's Marta Kostyuk or American Amanda Anisimova in her semi-final challenge.
