Olympic Silver Medalist Koki Ikeda Banned for Doping

Koki Ikeda, a Japanese race walker and former Olympic silver medalist, has received a four-year ban for doping violations. The Athletic Integrity Unit confirmed anti-doping rule violations, resulting in a provisional ban effective since November 2024, disqualifying his achievements post-June 2023 due to blood sample abnormalities.

Japanese race walker and Olympic silver medalist Koki Ikeda has been served a four-year ban due to doping violations, according to the Athletic Integrity Unit.

This decision by the oversight body comes after a disciplinary tribunal identified that Ikeda, aged 26, contravened anti-doping regulations.

He has been provisionally suspended from competition since November 2024, nullifying his results from June 2023 onwards, following the detection of blood sample abnormalities suggestive of manipulation.
