Nitin Gupta, a promising young athlete from Uttar Pradesh, has made headlines by breaking the national youth record in the 5,000m race walk event. This achievement took place on the opening day of the National Youth Athletics Championship, capturing the attention of the athletics community.
The 17-year-old competitor clocked an impressive 19:24.48 seconds, significantly improving upon his previous national record of 20:01.64, which he set last year in Bhubaneswar. His triumph secured him a gold medal in the boys' 5,000m event.
In other events, Haryana's Aarti won the girls' 100m final with a time of 12.23 seconds, narrowly edging out fellow competitor Prisha Mishra. The boys' 100m gold was claimed by Karnataka's Chiranth P, who completed the race in 10.89 seconds.
