The Pakistan Cricket Board's hopes of concluding the PSL 10 in the United Arab Emirates have encountered a significant obstacle. Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the Emirates Cricket Board is apprehensive about the potential diplomatic and security consequences of hosting the matches.
Previously, the PCB announced the shift of the last eight PSL 10 fixtures from Rawalpindi, Multan, and Lahore to the UAE. However, an anonymous source within the ECB revealed that approval is unlikely due to security risks. Hosting the PSL during this sensitive period could destabilize the region's harmony and spark community tensions.
The Emirates Cricket Board is concerned about being perceived as aligning with the PCB. It values its association with the BCCI, highlighted by hosting the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 and IPL seasons. Recent military confrontations have only heightened these anxieties, further threatening the tournament's relocation.
