Karun Nair and Washington Sundar held the middle order with scores of 52 and 19, respectively, as India tallied 119 runs in the extended final session. Earlier, intermittent showers allowed just six overs in the second session, during which Shubman Gill, India's captain, was run out on 21.
England capitalized in the morning session, taking the wickets of openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul. Chris Woakes and Gus Atkinson were among the standout bowlers, strategically reducing India's progression with crucial dismissals.
