As India's squad for the upcoming Asia Cup was unveiled, chief selector Ajit Agarkar highlighted the strategy for managing star pacer Jasprit Bumrah's workload to ensure his fitness for high-profile events. Agarkar clarified that while no rigid plan is in place, maintaining Bumrah's health is a priority for the team.

Agarkar noted the importance of Bumrah's availability, particularly during pivotal tournaments like the World Cup and major series against cricketing giants such as England and Australia. The selectors are in constant communication with Bumrah's medical team to monitor his condition, acknowledging the added care given due to past injuries.

India is set to commence their Asia Cup campaign against the UAE on September 10, with a highly anticipated match against Pakistan on September 14, both held in Dubai. The format includes a Super 4 stage, concluding with the final in Dubai on September 28. Team India is set, with key players and reserves named for the tournament.
