The 2025-26 NBA season began on Tuesday and marks the 12th year in a row with at least 100 international players on the league's opening-night teams. Canada remains the leading non-U.S. country with 23 athletes, including Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, a key figure in Oklahoma's NBA championship win. France, Australia, Germany, and Serbia also contribute significantly to the league's international presence.

The Atlanta Hawks, Portland Trail Blazers, and Golden State Warriors have among the most diverse rosters. With a record-breaking 71 European players, the NBA continues to strengthen its global footprint by scheduling games in Mexico City, Berlin, and London this season.
