The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has suspended wrestler Sanjeev following discrepancies discovered in his identity documents. The federation cited conflicting information regarding his place of birth and residence.
Sanjeev's documents revealed inconsistencies, such as a birth certificate from Delhi and a resident certificate from Haryana. Moreover, his passport lists Delhi as his place of birth, creating further confusion.
The WFI, unable to ascertain Sanjeev's true domicile, is seeking clarification from authorities. Pending this verification, the wrestler is suspended from all related activities, according to WFI President Sanjay Kumar Singh.
