After a night of partying, Atlanta woke up ready for more on Sunday as the final countdown to Super Bowl LIII between the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams began under a blanket of security and an online protest. Aside from being asked who will win the Super Bowl, the biggest question in the lead up to kickoff was whether the ocular eight-pedal retractable roof of the eye-catching $1.6 billion Mercedes-Benz Stadium will be open or closed. Second seed Kiki Bertens of the Netherlands beat Croatia's Donna Vekic 7-6(2) 6-4 to win the St. Petersburg Ladies Trophy on Sunday and claim her eighth WTA singles title. Mike Conley returned from a minor knee injury and scored 25 points Sunday afternoon as the Memphis Grizzlies dominated the second half of a 96-84 victory over the New York Knicks, whose home losing streak reached a team-record 14 games. Conley sat out Friday's loss in Charlotte with left knee soreness and was questionable for Sunday but returned and helped Memphis win for the third time in their last 20 games since Dec. 26. The veteran guard recorded his 12th game with at least 25 points, shot 9 of 17 and also totaled eight rebounds and seven assists. Fowler hangs on to win Phoenix Open

There is a saying that "everyone loves a winner" but not when it comes to the New England Patriots. A good part of the United States, or at least many of those not living within a Tom Brady Hail Mary of a New England state border, will be backing the Los Angeles Rams in Sunday's Super Bowl when they take on a Patriots team that will be playing in a third consecutive National Football League (NFL) title game and the fourth in five years.
