Boca Juniors delivered a remarkable comeback on Monday, defeating Barracas Central 3-1 in Argentina's Clausura competition. The victory, marked by Milton Gimenez's two second-half goals, was vital for Boca's progression in the league.
The match had initially been postponed following the death of Boca coach Miguel Angel Russo. With this win, Boca now holds 20 points, securing third place in Group A, just one point behind leaders Central Cordoba.
Despite being reduced to 10 men, Barracas opened the scoring, but Boca's swift response saw Gimenez and Uruguayan Miguel Merentiel sealing the victory. "It was a key match," said Boca striker Exequiel Zeballos.
