South Africa's cricket team clinched a convincing 55-run victory over Pakistan in the first Twenty20 International held in Rawalpindi. Openers Reeza Hendricks and Quinton de Kock set the pace with rapid scores, contributing to a hefty total of 194. Hendricks was instrumental, top-scoring with 60 runs off 40 balls, while debutant Tony de Zorzi made a notable impact with 33 runs from just 16 deliveries.
On the bowling front, South Africa's Corbin Bosch delivered a career-best performance, snatching four wickets for just 14 runs. His efforts were complemented by all-rounder George Linde, who despite an expensive start, managed to take three wickets for 31 runs. South Africa's seamers maintained tight control, stalling Pakistan's innings at 139 all out.
Pakistan's response was stifled by a disciplined South African attack, leaving them unable to gain traction. Saim Ayub was the lone fighter, contributing 37 runs, while captain Babar Azam was dismissed for a duck. The series will continue with the second match scheduled in Lahore on Friday.
